"Al Franken resigns, blasts Republican hypocrisy on sexual misconduct"
"Facing a string of sexual misconduct allegations and mounting pressure from his Democratic colleagues, Sen. Al Franken announced Thursday he will leave office in the coming weeks — but the former funnyman refused to go down without taking scathing parting shots at President Donald Trump and Republicans who have been accused of similar actions."
Franken resigned. Meanwhile, Trump who has bragged about grabbing women by the pussy without their consent -- On tape! Is the president of the United States.
The thing about Trump is that he doesn't give a shit. He's shameless & he's always been rewarded for it. The media loves to shame politicians like Franken with "analysis" like: "when will he resign?", "why hasn't he resigned yet?". But with Trump, they seem hesistant to even ask about sexual harassment, much less ask for the Donald's resignation.
Today, there's news of a different kind of harassment, i.e. how'd you like it if your boss asked you to bear his child?
"Rep. Trent Franks, Who Allegedly Asked Staffers to Bear His Child as Surrogates, Resigns Alongside Sen. Al Franken"
"Hours later, Franks announced his resignation after two former staff members complained about discussions he had with them about his efforts to find a surrogate mother.

The Washington Post reports that Franks, one of the House’s most conservative members, had asked staffers—who’ve since left his office—if they would bear his child as a surrogate mother. A spokesman for Franks did not respond to the Post’s request for comment on that claim."

Unlike Franken, Franks' colleagues did not ask for his resignation, but it appears the sensitivity of the situation (which also involves his family) forced him to do it. Despite disagreeing politically with Franks, I still feel bad for his situation. However, it's obvious the current anti-harassment environment that led to his resignation will ultimately be a positive step for the work-place conditions of
women & girls in the future.
