It reminded me of some of Trump's old tweets regarding North Korea:
Looking at the tweets above, I believe Trump's reckless use of social media might have actually motivated the NorthKorean dictator to rush to create a miniaturized nuclear warhead.
Of course this is not an original thought on the matter, last month Laura Rosenberger wrote similar commentary on the Chicago Tribune:
"Trump's tweets might actually start a nuclear war with North Korea"
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/commentary/ct-trump-tweets-nuclear-war-20170706-story.html
"I know how constrained the policy options are, and I'm familiar with the many difficult choices involved in selecting from a menu of bad options. And I know the incredibly complicated coordination — both within our own government, and with our allies and partners — that is necessary to implement a strategy to handle it.
But President Donald Trump's reaction to North Korea's missile test was to immediately reach for his phone and sound off with chest-thumping statements on Twitter. This is a very reckless reaction, and one that risks miscalculation by adversary and ally alike."
The article above was posted in the Chicago Tribune website on July 6th, 2017. A month later, things have not changed much. Today Trump said North Korea will be met with "fire, fury, & power". Does Trump thinks he's on "game of thrones"? This is not a hypothetical situation, millions of (North & South) Koreans's lives are at risk & thousands of U.S. troops in South Korea are now in the front-lines if war breaks out.Seems to me, in regards to North Korea, the Trump administration is trying out different responses to see what works: diplomatic talks, sanctions, asking for help from China, etc. However, Trump threatening "fire & fury" will probably not help matters or deescalate this tense situation.
