Now we know why Bannon was knowingly leaking Trump's strategy (of using racial strife as a political weapon) which he divulged to the American Prospect (on what he thought was an off-the-record conversation) :
http://prospect.org/article/steve-bannon-unrepentant
“The Democrats,” he said, “the longer they talk about identity politics, I got ’em. I want them to talk about racism every day. If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats.”
Of course, the conversation being "off-the-record" is BS. Bannon knew he was on his way out and wanted to make news before his exit (& possibly use this latest leaking as an excuse for why he was fired (because he didn't want to be just the latest mooch-type firing by General Kelly)).
Nevertheless, you'd like to think that "mister Bannon" being out of the white house means more reasonable people are imposing their views, but as long as Trump remains the president the problem is still there. General Kelly is not the president, you could tell Kelly was frustrated as hell when Trump went off-script last Tuesday.
Speaking of that, when Trump went off-script during last tuesday's "infrastructure" press conference (when he said the white nationalist/nazi side of the rally included some "fine people"), it wasn't Bannon who forced the Donald to say those incendiary remarks, that was all Trump (Bannon has supposedly been on the outs since August 7th).
Now Bannon is threatening to weaponize Breibart to attack the "establishment" using all the knowledge he gained while working inside the Trump administration.
What a joke. Attacks from the far-right are probably the last thing on the clouded dark mind of this current iteration of Trump. However, the constant firings & divisions between the extreme right & the conservative movement do mean even less stability & efficiency within the Trump's administration.
It is rumored that Bannon's "weaponized" Breitbart website will attack members of Trump's administration like Cohn, Kushner & Mnuchin as members of the "swamp" but Trump himself is the "swamp".
Bannon as well as all his alt-right allies were responsible for the Donald. & now they seem to want to try & blame everybody ("Goldman Sachs globalists, Wall streeters, & north-easterners") except Trump. The Donald chose to surround himself with "globalists". & Trump is a grown-ass man. So is Bannon: take some responsibility.
The alt-right, the ultra-conservatives, & the republicans own Trump. There is no one to blame but the Donald & his enablers. Corporations and globalists will make a deal with any politician. & for all his erratic, racist, and unfocused behavior, Trump is proving to be just that -- Just another politician.
