Arizona Cardinals & the NFL regular season's week 17

NFL's week 17: Cardinals were already eliminated from the playoffs & now so are the Seahawks:
http://www.espn.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/128845/all-the-seahawks-flaws-were-on-display-in-season-ending-loss-to-arizona
"The Seahawks needed a win over Arizona and an Atlanta Falcons loss to theCarolina Panthers to sneak into the playoffs as the No. 6 seed. Neither happened, and so Seattle's run of five straight postseason appearances comes to an end."
Nevertheless, it was a great game to watch with family before New Year's eve, especially because of the close win by the Cards (26-24). Thus, Arizona Cardinals ended up being (probably) the only NFL team to finish at 500 with an 8-8 record.
In other important news; this morning there are reports head coach Arians is retiring:

"ARIZONA CARDINALS: HEAD COACH BRUCE ARIANS RETIRES AFTER 5 SEASONS"

"Arians coached the Arizona Cardinals for five seasons. He amassed a record of 49-30 for his career with the Cardinals. With their victory on Sunday, Arians became the winningest coach in Cardinals history."

In other NFC news, the Eagles are the No. 1 seed. Nonetheless, they still lost 6-0 to the Cowboys in what's being called an "ugly game":
"PHILADELPHIA — When you expect a game to be terrible, sometimes it surprises you and ends up at least entertaining. Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field was worse. Actually, I don't know how a more unwatchable game could be played. Dan Bailey couldn't even make short kicks."
The Vikings are the No. 2 seed in the NFC:
"The Vikings made sure not to leave their playoff fate to chance on Sunday afternoon. And now, they’ll be able to take a week off.
They beat the Chicago Bears 23-10 on Sunday afternoon, limiting Chicago to 201 yards on offense. The win secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC for the Vikings, who won at least 13 games in a season for just the second time in franchise history."

As far as the AFC, the Patriots are the No. 1 seed. New England beat New York in a game which included a "legendary flop":

"The New England Patriots wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the AFC today with a dismantling of the New York Jets.
The primary highlight of the game, however, was this flop by Johnson Bademosi"

Pittsburgh is the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Steelers beat the (0-16) Browns:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2751700-browns-lose-vs-steelers-in-week-17-become-2nd-0-16-team-in-nfl-history
"The Cleveland Browns lost 28-24 to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh to become the second team in NFL history to finish a season 0-16.
Cleveland joined a dubious club that was previously occupied only by the 2008 Detroit Lions."

In other NFL news: Falcons defeated Panthers 22-10. Cam was ineffective according to sports analysts:
"Newton was far from his sharpest in a game in which he could have helped deny the division-rival Falcons a playoff spot. The former MVP fired three second-half interceptions, with the first two resulting from particularly poorly thrown balls."
Nevertheless, both teams are now in the post season:
NFC Wild card: Panthers vs Saints on Sunday (Fox).
Falcons vs Rams on Saturday (NBC).
AFC Wild card: Bills vs Jaguars on Sunday (CBS).
Titans vs Chiefs on Saturday (ESPN/ABC).
